Dear Readers,
Anger is an acid that can do more harm to the vessel in which it is stored than to anything on which it is poured. — Mark Twain
Anger raises your risk of developing many health problems thereby making it more harmful to you rather than the person you are getting angry at. Heart is one organ that is directly affected by anger. According to an analysis of findings from 44 studies published last year in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology, evidence supports the link between emotions and heart disease. To be specific, anger and hostility are significantly associated with more heart problems in initially healthy people, as well as a worse outcome for patients already diagnosed with heart disease.
Feeling angry is part of being human. It is a natural response to being attacked, insulted, deceived or frustrated. Sometimes, excessive anger can also be a symptom of some mental health problems. Anger can be useful, but it can also be frightening. When something makes you angry, adrenalin causes your body to prepare for ‘fight or flight’, giving you energy and making you feel tense. Releasing this energy and tension is good for you, but it can be difficult to do so in ways that are constructive.
Managing anger can be of immense importance since it not only affects your mood but also your health, people around you and your relationships. There are various anger management techniques including counseling, psychotherapy, meditation and many more. Most people might find it surprising but homoeopathy plays a wonderful role in controlling anger in people. Homoeopathy works at a constitutional level and a complete case taking is required to prescribe a particular medicine in a particular case. My personal experience says that homoeopathic medicines calm down a person relatively and reduces their anger levels to a bare minimum or maybe just a healthy anger level. I have prescribed for a number of patients who have specifically come for behavior problems, mostly brought by their relatives and have found excellent results in managing anger.
This issue of Homoeopathy for All focuses on this harmful emotion and its management through various ways including homoeopathy.
Thanking you
