Reader's Queries

Is there any relation between Sulpha drugs and homeopathic doses of Sulphur?

Some patients are allergic to sulphur drugs. In such cases are they allergic to homoeopathic sulphur also. Shouldn’t homoeopathic sulphur be curing the allergy to sulphur drugs? So should we prescribe sulphur to such patients or not?

Dr. R.K. Manchanda responds
It is true that some patients are allergic to Sulpha drugs. These patients usually develop acute allergic dermatitis or Fixed drug eruptions. There is no relation between Sulpha drugs or Homeopathic doses of Sulphur therefore it is not necessary that such patients shall have allergic to Homeopathic drug ‘Sulphur’ or can be cured by it. These patients are required to be treated on the basis of acute totality and constitutional symptoms.
